[Personality]
Ygritte is not so frigid at the lands she lives upon, though is nowhere near as warm and gentle as the women folk from beyond the wall within the lands run by kings and lords. In fact, she’s quite an interesting girl if one can manage to look past the hubris she tends to display in most everything that she does which is generally difficult to do, as she is ever a constant with her pride and persistent defiance. Her arrogance and stubborn qualities are among the first she often displays with other peoples and then they simply never cease to be shown again. She is a fiercely independent woman, constantly reminding others that she is among the free folk and therefore will do whatever she pleases as she needs not obey any laws and even as a female, she can do anything — including inviting herself to meetings she wasn’t asked to be present for and siding with whichever wildling band she sees fit.

She is stubborn and persistent to a fault, however. Once she has a goal set in mind, Ygritte sticks to it rather determinedly, which is something that could land her into a heap of trouble. She’s displayed her strong sense of cantankerousness in a couple of various manners.

Jon Snow, with a small group of men from the Watch, had originally found the wild woman among men of her kind — all of whom they had killed. When he turned his blade to her, she told him to kill her swiftly but he faltered as she of the female persuasion and took her prisoner instead. Throughout their time together alone; as he had gotten separated from the others of the Watch, she continuously lay next to him despite his obvious discomfort with the action — proclaiming it to be out of necessary for the cold — and even still consistently did so after he had been made to join the ranks of the wild folk, until he finally gave in from his vows and bed with her, which she had been after in the first place.

The woman is also fiercely loyal to her people and their ideals, this is something that reveals that despite how worldly she feels herself to be, she is also rather naïve. Her folk lack in certain necessary measures to beat the men of the North Wall, but tread onward toward it with the belief of victory. Jon Snow reveals to her that he does not believe that Mance’s army will win the war but defiantly she retorts that he can and will, telling Jon that he knows nothing (of which she often does) as he’s never seen the will of the free folk when they fight. He speaks in truth. For as demonic as the wildlings can be when they fight, they are unlearned in the ways of proper battle and would likely fall against an army of men whom are taught in the ways of tactics. Stubbornly refusing to see things his way is what will in the end cause her demise.

Ygritte is nothing if not brave, perhaps foolishly so. Her arrogance plays large part in her vehement boldness that often lands her in the middle of things in which she should not be taking part in. Of course, should someone tell her such she will retort that she is a free woman and will do as she pleases as there is neither law nor man who can tell her any different.

Ygritte’s upbringing as a woman living in the wilds has her much different than the women from across the Wall. They are raised free, taught to fight and should a woman prove to be strong and swift enough in battle, she may earn the title of ‘spearwife’ — of which Ygritte has. In her life, she has been subjected to and taken part in raids, battles and death, these things are not something the civilized women from over the Wall would be ever caught doing, nor would they want to. There are vast differences in her personality and those of the dainty folk, being that she isn’t dainty at all. Ygritte is the sort of woman to punch her lover and call him stupid rather than kneel and bow her head to a man she would be taught to call ‘my lord.’ Kneeling is not something that Ygritte, nor any of the wildlings, will ever take to doing.

She is often quick to inform Jon Snow of her worldliness, or inform him of his stupidities and lack of proficiency when compared to herself, as he’s never had to face most of the situations that she has in her lifetime. Despite being as worldly as she claims to be, Ygritte is not so learned in teachings that would be offered to her on a scholastic level. Reading and writing are a mystery to her, as are geographies in the forms of maps and how to properly use them. Ygritte would more easily use her eyes and her memory to map out a location, than look over a sheet with landmarks drawn on them. She has no use for things, or so she assumes she doesn’t — she’s never been taught them or truly been told of them, so she knows not what she is missing.

But that is not to say that she is without softness or sympathies. There are many times in which the crow turncloak is in need of proving his allegiance and easily, she lies for him even to the King-Beyond-the-Wall, Mance Rayder in order to keep Jon safe. She does such, either from feeling indebted to his keeping her alive when they first met initially, or simply due to her liking him — one can’t truly tell for certain as Ygritte keeps such feelings well within herself. She is not without moments of rare sentimentality, most notably during a visit to the caves shortly before they reach the Wall. She shares a moment with Jon Snow, her then lover, in which she tells him that she would rather stay in the caves with him forever than return to Styr and Jarl. It is clear that she has deep feelings for Jon, but, her shier and tenderer moments remain few and far between, even with him alone.

[Specialties/Abilities]
Ygritte’s capabilities vary when it comes to weaponry. She’s a fair archer and she’s skilled at using both knives and swords, she can ride horses well enough as well. Otherwise, she’s a normal woman of the wilds, with no ‘magic’ or any other witchcraft to her name. She is, however, considered to be lucky by her people from her red hair and being as they call it, kissed by fire.

[Affection] You can choose to show affection to her should you want, but it likely won’t be reciprocated. And Ygritte isn’t the type of woman to want snuggles and say ‘I love you’s’, but that isn’t to say she couldn’t grow to love someone. So it’s possible, just not likely to happen out of the blue.

[Fighting] As mentioned in her abilities, she is skilled, so fighting her wouldn’t be just a quick battle. Your character can injure her, but anything graver than that I would like to discuss it beforehand.

[Other Permissions] Telepaths can read her mind being that she’s a simple woman, but as for Fourth Walling her, don’t do it. I wouldn’t know how to properly have her react to something like that short of trying to kill the person claiming she’s not who she thinks she is, so let’s avoid that.
